Today I stayed in bed. I am still struggling with this wretched Piriformis Syndrome. It’s still better than having to give evidence in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case.
I followed the case today as it was streamed live. It is fascinating to see how very meticulous the questions have to be from the lawyers to the witnesses.
I disliked the Psychiatrist. But then I dislike them all. I find them mostly disturbing and disturbed themselves. The Psychiatrist got a good clobbering from the Depp lawyer. Good on him, he’s very clever but not as glamorous as Ms Vazquez! I’m sure there will be some clips of that on YouTube.
I’m vacillating between Depp is horrid to Heard is horrid.
But the witness who has been fascinating about how the movie industry works, is Kathryn Arnold, witness on the side of Amber. She has been the most convincing expert I have seen. She has analysed how Depp’s career has hardly been affected by the defamation article Heard wrote which has been the cause of this court case. And how Amber Heard’s career has been utterly destroyed by the Social Media hate campaign against her. Kathryn Arnold does many cases where she analyses ‘losses’ incurred by various sides in libel cases.
Johnny Depp is still popular. Amber Heard is now not. She has lost out on millions of dollars, because Social Media and this case ( aka Johnny Depp?) has killed her career.
I’d hate to be an actor. I’d hate to be a famous actor. I’d hate to be a very wealthy famous actor. I’d hate to be married to either Amber Heard or Johnny Depp.
They both sound absolutely unbelievably horrid.
I think both men and women have been fascinated by the Depp/Heard case because there, we see ourselves, our ugly sides, reflected at our very worst.
It’s much better to be relaxing in bed on this Monday, comfortable against my lovely pillows with a hot water bottle in the small of my back.
There is a great advantage to not needing fame nor fortune, nor drugs, nor alcohol, nor beauty, or admiration from others in the persuit of happiness.
